AboutStephen JohnstoneHis work has been described as "edgy and fun" as well as "lovely" and has been featured in such diverse publications as Rolling Stone and Westways. Some of it can be seen hanging on the walls of feature films, TV series and commercials where studios rent and purchase his art. Steve's last Gallery show was held at the Metro Gallery in Pasadena featuring Rock and Roll and Jazz Artists from the 70's as well as contemporary portraits. More recently, a study of nature and the seasons has resulted in his "Pasadena Autumn" and "Pasadena Spring" with Summer and Winter in progress. A word from Steve..."Mother Nature and Rock and Roll have much in common: energy, motion, color...life force, and that is what I try to show." "I enjoy shooting beautiful women (all women are beautiful), handsome or gnarly men, kids (most of the time), dogs, jazz-cats, horses and hippies; landscapes, flowers and weeds (especially weeds), magic musicians of wonder and even T-Rex's." "I also enjoy a fine cigar (or even a cheap one), a strong cup of coffee and Mario Lanza singing Puccini." "Life is worth living my friend." Stephen Johnstone |
